Abstract

Through an analysis of the evolution of entrepreneurship teaching at the university level, the author exposes the importance of academia in the process of practical entrepreneurship education, using examples from North America and Costa Rica. The important issues revealed by this essay can attract the attention of policy makers who are dedicated to providing support for the promotion of entrepreneurship, the development of local SMEs and their internationalization.
