Abstract

This article examines the impacts of President Donald Trump's economic and foreign policies, particularly focusing on the escalation of tariffs and their repercussions on the U.S. and global economies. Drawing from a range of sources, including economic analyses and expert opinions, the study explores how protectionist measures impact economic indicators, consumer behavior, and international relations. The findings suggest that the aggressive tariff strategies have led to increased economic uncertainty, disrupted global supply chains, and strained diplomatic ties, potentially undermining the long-term economic stability of the United States. The weakening of the U.S. soft power (destruction of USAID, Voice of America, Interamerican Foundation, etc.) and of scientific research institutions opens the door to other powers, in particular China and Russia.
