Abstract

The aim of the following conceptual article is to expose the different definitions and characteristics of qualitative research as one of the great forces of scientific research. Through an in-depth review of the literature and different specialized publications, a theoretical or conceptual proposal is constructed that aims to describe the methodological perspective. It is clear from the evidence of the specialized literature that there are certain features of this research methodology that allow it to be differentiated from quantitative research. At the same time, it is key to understand that the advancement of this perspective has allowed us to understand more clearly and precisely the concept of scope of qualitative research and its relationship with naturalistic research traditions.
