Abstract
Introduction and aim: The objective of this cross-sectional observational study was to analyze TikTokTM videos related to the area of dentistry, specifically in smile study designs that involved crowns and veneers only in anterior teeth. Methods: A total of 67 videos were evaluated, determining the veracity and quality of the information provided on said platform. The variables that were measured were: source, associated emotion, video format, type of video, amount of content and country. All the variables were tabulated in a table in Excell, later the descriptive statistics of each one of them were conducted. Results: Of the 67 videos analyzed, it was found that 47.8% were created in Mexico, in addition to being specialized, 43% were created by general dentists and 23.9% specialists. In addition, the video with the most comments obtained a total of 21,000, in terms of total likes, the video with the most likes obtained a total of 36,000. The amount of adequate content was presented in 17.9% of the videos. A moderate positive confirmation was found between the number of followers and likes, which was 0.550 and statistically (p=0.001), in the relationship between followers and shares it was also positive and statistically significant (p=0.007). Conclusion: A clear relevance of the results is observed when analyzing how adequate and inappropriate the content of the creators of the videos was, where it will be concluded that the content that the videos had was mostly inappropriate content.References
